How It Works

How is the result calculated?

Concentration is the peptide in the vial divided by the water added. For example, 10 mg in 2 mL is 5 mg per mL. The amount per draw is divided by that concentration to get the volume, which is then shown in syringe units.

How do mL convert to syringe units?

Insulin-style syringes are marked in units. On a standard U-100 syringe, 100 units equals 1 mL, so 10 units is 0.1 mL. This calculator always uses U-100 markings.

How much water should be added?

It depends on the concentration you want. More water gives a larger volume per draw, which is easier to measure on a small syringe. Less water gives a smaller, more concentrated draw. Follow the reconstitution instructions supplied with your vial.

What about products measured in IU?

IU conversions are specific to each compound and are not covered by a general rule. Use the documentation supplied with the vial.
