5-Amino-1MQ is a small-molecule research compound classified as a selective inhibitor of NNMT (nicotinamide N-methyltransferase), an enzyme involved in one-carbon metabolism. It is supplied as a high-purity lyophilized powder for controlled laboratory work. Research background: 5-Amino-1MQ came out of structure-activity relationship studies aimed at NNMT. Academic groups began publishing work characterizing its pharmacological profile in the late 2010s, and it has since been referenced throughout the preclinical literature. Research context: In laboratory settings, 5-Amino-1MQ is used to study NNMT activity, cellular metabolism, and the related methylation and NAD+ salvage pathways. All characterization is limited to in-vitro and preclinical model systems. Form: Lyophilized powder in a sealed vial. Requires reconstitution before use. Storage: Keep sealed vials in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. After reconstitution, refrigerate at 2–8°C and use within 4–6 weeks. Properly stored lyophilized powder keeps for up to 24 months. Sold strictly for in-vitro research and laboratory use. Not for human or veterinary use, and not a drug, food, or cosmetic.
